The main one is that sometimes (not allways) the kill -15 of the main spamd process results in the process being killed but not the child processes. Once I corrected the second problem, it seems to happen every other time I rum spamc_B.t as long as I am careful to kill the child processes in between tests. The second problem, which confuses studying this and may be a problem with non-Cygwin systems too, is that an old copy of the t/log/spamc_B* files can mess up the lookup of the spamd pid. It is a race condition which can be fixed by adding a line in start_spamd to unlink the old output files before launching the test.
