Just a quick FYI.  Jeremy's instructions are fine.  However, you need to
make sure that you've either used the --enable-make-seekable option (version
5.3.7 or greater, the default is y) when you compiled vpopmail or have
applied the seekable patch (versions < 5.3.7) before compiling.
