Check this out. Here's a header from a common type of spam that slips through. PowerMTA is *always* the MTA, PowerMail is always the X-Mailer, and it's jnichols@(fake domain) for the "from" address. BAYES_80 always gets hit, but despite jacking up the score, they're still getting through. :( I have tried sa-learn on these messages, but they still get through.
What can I do to cut down on these? They're the only ones that make it through these days. On the flip side, I suppose that I should be happy. I cleared out the spam folder last night and this afternoon it's already up to 37 messages. SpamAssassin has made us spoiled. ;) Here's what I have in local.cf for BAYES_80 #Higher scores score BAYES_80 0 0 2.00 2.00 score BAYES_90 0 0 3.50 3.50 And here's an example header....: Received: from mailgate.pbp.net (unknown [127.0.0.1]) by mailgate.pbp.net (Postfix) with ESMTP id B34F2C250 for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Fri, 3 Oct 2003 13:04:51 +0000 (UTC) Received: from gc13.meganewz.com (unknown [69.61.43.23]) by mailgate.pbp.net (Postfix) with ESMTP id 55E86BE8E for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Fri, 3 Oct 2003 06:04:48 -0700 (PDT) Received: by gc13.meganewz.com (PowerMTA(TM) v2.0c1); Fri, 3 Oct 2003 14:40:39 -0400 (envelope-from <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>) X-Mailer: PowerMail v8855789 Content-Type: multipart/alternative; boundary="----=_BkymKzPF_EOQL8qx8_MA" Subject: This weekend MIME-Version: 1.0 From: "Mark" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Fri, 3 Oct 2003 14:40:39 -0400 Message-Id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> X-Spam-Status: No, hits=2.9 required=5.0 tests=BAYES_80,DATE_IN_FUTURE_03_06,HTML_60_70, HTML_IMAGE_ONLY_04,HTML_IMAGE_RATIO_02,SUBJECT_FREQ version=2.55 X-Spam-Level: ** X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.55 (1.174.2.19-2003-05-19-exp) X-Virus-Scanned: by AMaViS 0.3.12 Parts/Attachments: ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ Spamassassin-talk mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/spamassassin-talk
