As a new user myself - I have to say ya'll are full of bunk. > Remember, the vast majority of people > looking at SA are coming from a "put in disk and type d:\setup.exe" > attitude. For users, that's fine. For system administrators, that's abysmal. Part of the sysadmin's job is to become familiar with the packages that get installed and taking it upon themselves to know how to properly configure them. As I said, I am relatively new to Linux myself. But I read 2 newsgroups purely for general linux stuff, plus a newsgroup for SA, one for MailMan, & one on ClamAV. > While I myself came from a little less hand-holding than > Microsoft (Novell) I still found it a bit confusing as to how to do it > and what to do next. I'm glad to see you're doing your job by reading this group. > What I'm really trying to say is no where is there really a > hand-holding document that says, "here's what you have to do if you > really want this to work well." I will grant you that - the install & configure docs do leave something to be desired. But then again, it is a free program...
