Just to correct this statement, :name and :addr have been in the code since at least 2.3x.
Ack! you're right.. In fact, it's even in 2.0's PerMsgStatus.pm, so code wise this has been around a VERY long time.
The first use of it in a .cf file (instead of in EvalTest.pm or other part of the code) appears to be 2.40 in the rule TO_HAS_SPACES. (only looking at 2.0 and higher)
I wonder how I never noticed that element before. :addr even appears in 14 rules in 2.63, and :name appears in 1 in 2.63.
