The SpamBayes mailing list is public and publicly archived, as clearly documented on the SpamBayes site. See http://spambayes.sourceforge.net/contact.html. The purpose of the archiving is to increase the availability of the knowledge represented by answers to questions, which can save greatly speed up the process of getting an answer. There is no feasible way to retract postings. Once you post to a public list, you've put your message into the public domain BY YOUR ACTION, regardless of any warnings attached to your message. No one does, can, or should remove this information from the internet. If the list manager software somehow managed to understand your confidentiality clause, the only reasonable action it could take would be to suppress distribution of your message, in which case no one would ever see it and you would get no response, which would presumably be counter to your intent. For what it's worth, there is no company, or indeed any formal organization at all, behind SpamBayes. A loose-knit group of good-hearted and talented people with specific technical skills maintain the program. They're not completely altruistic, of course; they maintain the program in part because it provides functionality they need. If the public nature of postings bothers you, please consider whether a list that you would like to post to is public and/or archived before posting. This email, and any files transmitted with it, are confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed. If you received this email in error, please delete it and notify the sender immediately. _______________________________________________ [email protected] http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/spambayes Check the FAQ before asking: http://spambayes.sf.net/faq.html
