It's very possible you've found a bug here. I've fixed several bugs in the past relating to spamdyke's handling of messages with very long lines, most notably a very tricky one in version 3.1.6.
Is there any chance you could send me the spamdyke log (showing the timeout) and the message file as it was finally delivered?
