It's very possible you've found a bug here.  I've fixed several bugs in 
the past relating to spamdyke's handling of messages with very long 
lines, most notably a very tricky one in version 3.1.6.

Is there any chance you could send me the spamdyke log (showing the 
timeout) and the message file as it was finally delivered?  It would be 
best to zip them first, so spamdyke on my server doesn't alter them. :)
