I've been trying in the last two days to get this sc2000 going with debian
2.1. The default kernels didn't work at all, I crosscompiled a stock 2.2.5
on my intel box, it booted then, and the install succeeded. It worked
nicely for a couple of hours, then froze during the night... it still
answered to ping, but nothing else. After I fixed the filesystem, it
crashed once more, and after that every time loadkeys run, it froze again.
Btw I had other problems with the keyboard. When the install process
started, none of the keys worked as expected, fortunatelly I found that
the left arrow worked as enter, and got to load another keymap. Now with
2.2.6 compiled without PCI support this problem seems to have vanished.
I just got another freeze, got to the PROM ok prompt with a "Watchdog
reset" explanation. What does this mean ?
And additionally, I tried to compile an SMP kernel (the machine has 4
processors), all the settigs same as the UP kernel, except for the SMP,
and it didn't boot, just said Starting linux... (or whatever) and hung
there...
Any ideas, advice?
