Ok, here's how sane stands: if you can get it to build (there's an SRPM
that works at
ftp://ftp.redhat.com/redhat/powertools/6.0/SRPMS/sane-1.0.1-3.src.rpm ),
then at least some of the scsi backends might actually work.
Notably Net doesn't (or at least I couldn't manage to make it work with a
scanner on an intel box and the client running on a sparc), but hp looks
like it does in the current version. Havn't tried anything else. Let
people know if you have any luck with any other backends and etc.
