Hello,
I recently finished setting up a SparcStation 20 with RedHat 6.0
kernel 2.2.5-22. I am getting the following disk errors on the console:
esp0: Warning, live target 1 not responding to selection.
SCSI disk error : host 0 channel 0 id 1 lun 0 return code = 28000000
extra data not valid Current error sd08:11: sense key Not Ready
Additional sense indicates Logical unit is in process of becoming ready
scsidisk I/O error: dev 08:11, sector 82496
I am not sure if this is a bad disk or not. The disk is a new factory
replacement. I have the machine next to me and every so often I can hear
the disks spin up and the lights go on for a second. Most of the time
there is little activity on this machine.
Has anyone seen this problems before. I was wondering if it could be
some kind of power management causing the disk to spin down and give the
not ready errors. I do not have the apmd running. Everthing on this
machine runs fine and I have not had any problems except for these error
messges.
Help is greatly appreciated,
