I am using a Sparcstation 1+ here... It was pretty much dead before it
met
me.
Most Sparc computers are declared dead because the built-in IDPROM aka
nvram
aka CMOS does not work anymore. It is battery-buffered and by the time
the
batteries get empty the Computer does not know the time it's hostid and
all that kind of things anymore.

This document helped me to make my Sparc run again. I replaced the
broken
chip and put the correct values into it. (...and got a Forth
crash-course)

Perhaps it will help you make your Sparcstation run again.
Good luck
