As primary framebuffer you have big trouble, because the card won't be
supported by PROM, so if it is the only framebuffer in the machine, you have
to attach serial console if you want to take care about booting.
And, you need to actually hack support for that card in the kernel (vesafb
won't work on sparc, so you need to pick one with the kernel driver and port
it to sparc) and in XFree86. I've done half way Matrox support for SPARC (it
worked, but from time to time crashed the kernel, so is not quite ready and
I haven't the card any longer) so if that's what you're going to buy, I can
send you where I stopped.
Of course, if you write any support, send it back to us so that others can
use it as well :)
