Is anyone in the community monitoring default routes & BGP Path (Remote As) values. We are looking to configure monitoring for a default route of 0.0.0.0, if the route goes away raise an event. We are also looking to monitor the Remote As OID in the BGP Peer table specially looking at the BGP Path or Remote As field. e want to raise and event if the BGP Path/Remote As value changes. I am aware of one solution which is to taker all of our internet routes, put them in a group and monitor the link utilization, takes a considerable drop we can raise an event figuring that we have lost our default route.
