Hello list,

I'm configuring various types of Latency and Packet Loss test hosts/test
templates using SPM. I've done some ICMP, HTTP, and Traceroute tests and
all of those have worked without a problem. For some reason, my DNS tests
keep timing out. I've noticed that the General Tab of the DNS test requires
a Destination DNS server and a Lookup Name. Is this test testing packet
loss and latency associated with resolving the lookup name on the DNS server
from where it originated (source)? In other words, is this test measuring
how long the DNS server takes to resolve a 'lookup name' from the source.
I'm just trying to understand some SPM theory and unfortunately the pdf
files don't provide all the details I'm looking for. Thanks.
