Hi,

I've got Spectrum 8.1 installed and I'm having issues with alarms on
device ports. On all of my devices I've set attribute 'Poll Port Status
(Device)' as Yes and 'Poll Port Status (Port)' as No. Then I've gone
through all ports and on some of them set 'Poll Port Status (Port)' as
Yes. My goal was to disable 'Bad link detected' alarms and enable port
alarming just on interesting ports.

After a few days I've noticed that 'Bad link detected' alarms are still
being generated on the ports that have attribute 'Poll Port Status (Port)'
set to No. I've taken a look at documentation and saw some other
attributes regarding port fault management:
ok_to_poll is set to No.
AlarmOnLinkDownTrap is set to Check Status.
AssertLinkDownAlarm is set to No.
GeneratePortStatusAlarms is set to Yes.

On two devices I have equal port settings and one port is generating
alarms and some other is not. I don't know what is the reason for this.

When I look at port status on first device these are interesting
parameters:
Port Connected -> Supressed (grey)
Condition -> Critical (red)
Device Connected -> Critical (red)
Status -> Down (red)

When I look at port status on second device these are interesting
parameters:
Port Connected -> Supressed (grey)
Condition -> Normal (green)
Device Connected -> Critical (red)
Status -> Down (red)

As I said all the settings are the same. Can somebody tell me how the
Condition of the port is concluded and why some ports generate alarms and
other don't?

Regards,
