Moving on a bit more - think I have some light at the end of the tunnel -
but with a slight hiccup

foudn the mib that contains the information I would be after -
Juniper-chassis-defines-mib

it has the relevant oid for JnxContentsSerialNo .1.7
                                    JnxContentsDescr       .1.6
                                    JnxContentsRevision   .1.8
                                    JnxContentsPartNo     .1.10
                                    JnxConentsIndex        .1.1
(all part of OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.2636.3.1.8.)

So I think the next process is to import the mib and map the attributes -
normally I use mibtools to do this but attribute support does not list the
OID when I try this - no option to create attributes

Assuming I can get this working I was then looking at modifying the oneclick
file
rfc2790-devices-table-config.xml (as a template) and using the newly mapped
attributes

<column>
<name>Description</name>
<default-width>200</default-width>
<content>
<attribute>attrid of newly mapped oid</attribute>
</content>
</column>
so two queries here

1: is it possbile in a oneclick file to not refer to an attribute ID but to
refer to an OID directly so in the above example the field
<attribute>attrid</attribute> would in fact be

<attribute>.1.3.6.1.4.1.2636.3.1.8.1.6</attribute>

2: trying to understand why the mib rfc2790-devices-table-config.xml won't
import to create attributes correctly

If anyone has already modified oneclick to give the relevant chassis
information (of peripherals) from Junipers would appreciate any tips you may
be able to pass on too.

Also does Spectrum 9 have this information already built in - would help
case to get an upgrade done if it does already

Apologies for the mulitple emails on the same subject
