I have been asked to set up special notification for a particular device having the Stopped Responding to Polls alarm (0x10009) appear and auto clears within 1-2 minutes to have another alarm generated (or some other form of notification) stating that this specific device has and a quick outage (only for this device). I have thought of modifying the EventDisp by adding a rule to the 0x010009 (do not want to do this one), using SANM, or once integrated, using the Ticket system to create the ticket. Has anyone come up with a solution to devices that have quick "outages" (less than 1-2 minutes) notifying Operations of a potential recurring issue? I am leaning towards using SANM, but would appreciate any advice or recommendations from those who have already overcome similar situations.
