CA support has an internal tool that they can use to assist with these kinds of sizing questions. If you open a case with them, and ask for sizing, they can collect a number of data points from you and provide you with an expected number of SpectroServers on various hardware platforms. There are a lot more factors that should go in proper server sizing and architecture (such as MOM server, placement of SpectroServers, duplication, etc.) I don't think one can do it correctly just by asking a series of questions to discussion list - too much risk.
