I can tell you about ars-app-config.xml popup error because I've seen it when I
upgraded.
First of all, you probably missed reading Spectrum_Release_Notice PDF in docs
folder. Go thru Chapter 2 (Special Considerations).
Secondly, As that chapter explains regarding ARS, AR System Gateway product is
no longer present in r9.0. So after upgrade to r9.0, the AR System Gateway will
not work properly -why? I guess because of DLLs, JAR files, libraries etc that
are in 9.0 DVD are not compatible with AR System Gateway from a previous
SPECTRUM installation.
You have to uninstall ARS as explained in the Spectrum_Release_Notice PDF.
