[spectrum] Internal IF Alias

Hi
Just wanting to confirm if the Internal if Alias field is what I think is
Is it an attribute stored in the Spectrum DB which is periodaly updated by a
poll of the interface model?
If so how does one force the update to happen? (ps v 8.1)
