I believe that by default, Spectrum NCM uses SNMP to trigger TFTP to retrieve configs from IOS devices, but uses SSH with a "show run" with NXOS. By clicking on the device family and looking at the Information Tab in the Contents pane, you can change these defaults to use Telnet/FTP or SSH/SCP for IOS devices which are not/are SSH-capable.
That said, you simply give the username and password (and Enable password) that your TACACS/Radius servers are expecting and it works fine.
