For discarding, simply set the event severity to "None" after mapping the
trap ID to a Spectrum event. For HA/DR, point your routers to your MLS and
BLS (main location server and backup location server) and the traps will be
routed to the appropriate landscape. VARBINDs will be preserved, and the
trap volume and trap types you specify are all well within spec. If you need
trap forwarding, look at Trap Exploder (from EHealth) or Trap Receiver
(http://www.trapreceiver.com/ -- Windows only).

Sorry if this is vague; I haven't touched in a year Spectrum.

Subject: [spectrum] SNMP trap filtering application

All,

I am looking for an application which can do trap filtering for us. Any
recommendations will be helpful. I am looking for following functionalities.

1. Should be able to process SNMP v1 and v2c traps.

2. Process up to 100 traps/second.

3. Discard a trap based on Enterprise OID, generic and specific trap type
combination.

4. Discard a trap based on the value of variable binding.

5. For all other trap, preserving the source IP address and the entire trap
variable bindings, should be able to forward it to at least 5 destinations.

6. The application should be able to support HA/DR.

Thanks,
