Siegfried,

We have done basically the same here. You need to take two steps to make the
additional attributes available to email.

1. List the attributes in $SPECROOT/Notifier/.alarmrc in the variable
“EXTRAATTRS_AS_ENVVARS”. Use upper case, even on Windows.

e.g. EXTRA_ATTRS_AS_ENVVARS=0xF0000001

2. Import the attributes into the SetScript (and UpdateScript and
ClearScript if you use those) like this:

MY_FIRST_ATTRIBUTE="$SANM_0XF0000001"
You can then use that variable in the subject or content of the email sent by
the *Scripts.
Don’t forget to save the *Script files _before_ you edit them, _and_ save a
copy before running any patch or upgrade – those scripts are often overwritten
in those circumstances.

Subject: [spectrum] attributes from device to port in alarmnotifier
(.alarmrc,setscript,clearscript)

Hi

Maybe somebody can help us further !

We Added several attributes on a device level to Spectrum.
That means this Attributes are inheritated from Device at the model Catalog.
The values are filled automatically at the device (e.g. Cisco Router) itself.
That means each device is enriched with about 20 additional attributes like
1stLevelSupportgroup.

When We send an Alarm via the Notifier to our Ticketsystem we forward all this
values to the Ticket.

BUT:
When there is a port down alarm we miss them.
Spectrum does not show the Attributes from the Device at which the ports are,
because the alarm comes from the port.
Now my question.

What is the best way, to get the additional attributes of a device send out at
the Notifier, if a portalarm is sent.
Do you have any recommendation.

Thanks and best regards
