All, I'm currently working for a company that has a distributed SpectroSERVER environment (lots of primaries & secondaries). We are looking for a way to automate the model add process. Here's the given: We have the IP address, agent port (1691), and the server name.We know WHERE the server model needs to reside (i.e., Universe > US > CITY > Subnet) Here's the unknown:HOW?????
I already looked at CLI (via vnmsh) and that appears to be too cumbersome as I will not be the sole "adder". I currently use autodiscovery and import the list of IPs, then discover, then model based on the results. Not sure if there is a command line version of AutoDiscovery; something to research if WebServices proves unsuccessful. CA showed me something with WebServices API (only from a display perspective, not a POST or DELETE perspective). Has anyone used WebServices API and created models (via POST) and placed the model automatically in the LAN container they desired? I'm digging into the WebServices document (this is new territory for me, but love learning new stuff). The whole concept is to automate the process. Ideas? Suggestions? SOLUTIONS? <wink wink nudge nudge> Kind regards, Fred --- To unsubscribe from spectrum, send email to [email protected] with the body: unsubscribe spectrum [email protected]
