Hi,

I don't have problems with the pid - it is removed correctly. As for the
pap/chap-secrets file, I'm pretty sure that they are correct. For BT you
don't need a password so it is just

[EMAIL PROTECTED] * "password" *

But ppp still doesn't work?.

I might give Mandrake 8.2 a try.

Regards,

Frans

Mandrake 8.2.

Also Im reading the FaQ, and I found:
2. You may have done a mistake in user/password between the adsl peer
file and the chap/pap-secrets file.

I dont understand this very well, but a mistake of a 'bad' password? Or
what?

3. Sometimes pppoa3 fails to remove its pid/lock file in /var/run/. Then
check your daemon.log, and if you see lines where pppoa3 is waiting
like this

Just to remove and thats all? pppd again?.. exists a 'script' that when
ppp its disconnected, the ppp pid (at /var/run) needs to be removed?

Paul Fischer

PD. I know of one script.. just to put it into the cron to check the
connection every certain time, but exists one script that automatically
removes the ppp pid?
