I had exaclty the same problem (sooner than one hour even).
Shame on me but I did not find any other solution than disable the OpenBSD power
manager of the kernel (that I recompiled).

Since then I did not have any such problem.

But I'm still not using OpenBSD with my speedtouch because of the same old
problem of the USB-reseting missing feature. (Has it progressed ?)

So for the time being, I'm stuck under linux...
