I tried the "-e 1" command and it didn't change anything. My VPI and VCI is 0 and 35 because that is what windows alcatel client tells me. Kernel version? It is 2.4.22, the one that comes with Slackware 9.1 and according to the drivers it should work.
Here is what i find wierd, in the alcatel diagnostic utility for windows it tells me: VPI=0 VCI=35 TYPE=RFC1483B ENCAPSULATION=LLC ADSL modem type: POTS with Gdmt.A mode It also has an ATM transmit and recieve area. And oddly enough there is an ethernet tab giving me a mac address (??? odd for usb) Inside of Sympatico Access manager is tells me: DEVICE= WAN MINIPORT (PPPoE) DEVICE TYPE= PPPoE AUTHENTICATION= PAP I'm at a loss here, doesn't that ATM inside of them modem's program mean it uses PPPoA? Yet sympatico is listed in windows as using PPPoE? Does that mean that it is using RFC bridging? In which case, will these drivers work at all for me? Any other ideas?
