I don't recall an officer ever doing the sort of thing a CPA would
(file taxes and the like).  Why would you have SPI hire a CPA to do
bookkeeper's work?  The bookkeeper is to take the load off the
officers.

Speaking from a purely business perspective. Command Prompt operates like this.

We have a certified book keeper (my wife actually ;)). She handles all AR/AP, office adminstrative stuff etc...

We have a CPA that we work closely with. That CPA handles anything and everything to do with taxes and payroll (except for actually cutting the checks and mailing coupons).

Once a quarter we also have the CPA audit our books to make sure we put all the dots and dashes where they need to be.
