Hi Michael, The default units will just do nothing (x 1.0). I think gadget output may already be in some kind of units though. I'm not all that familiar with the internal workings of Gadget so can't help you much here.
The units in splash are just scaling factors for each column to be multiplied by after it has been read from the file. These can be set manually in the d) menu, option 8. They are saved in the splash.units file and so can be edited directly in that file also.
