Interested in a graduate level sports nutrition
course offered online? This is a science-based course that is designed for
teachers, coaches, exercise professionals, registered dietitians, and other
health professionals. This course is taught totally online via asynchronous
computer conference discussions, e-mail assignments, and a course project. Learn
current sports nutrition recommendations and their practical applications. Gain
practice evaluating nutrition information and accessing accurate sports
nutrition information on the Internet. Explore controversial topics and the
benefits versus risks of various dietary supplements. Participate in
asynchronous discussions that integrate nutrition with fitness, exercise
metabolism, and human performance. Assignments are adaptable to lesson plans,
classroom activities, and client consultations. Resources include a text,
nutrition software, study guide, scientific literature, current news, and
Internet sources. Class size is limited to 25 students.
