Dear WG,
This email is to provide further information on the changes to Sec. 7 and 9 in draft-ietf-spring-srv6-srh-compression-04. The new text in Sec. 7 describes how a C-SID compliant SR source node may turn an uncompressed segment list comprising C-SID flavored SIDs into a compressed segment list. An uncompressed segment list may contain a combination of NEXT-C-SID and REPLACE-C-SID flavored SIDs, but also any other SID defined in other documents (e.g., RFC 8986). Compression of sequences of NEXT-C-SID flavored SIDs and sequences of REPLACE-C-SID flavored SIDs are described. The new text in Sec. 9 clarifies that an SR source node requires SID structure information to perform the compression of a segment list provided in uncompressed format.
