Hello sprinklerforum,
I need to install a Class III standpipe in a location where it is subject to
freezing. I see a reference in NFPA 14 2003 section 5.4.3 to a
"Semiautomatic-Wet" but no definition for one. I am open to suggestions. Looks
like this little 4 story 32 room hotel is going to be spending a bundle on the
remodel work.
I am unable to reuse the existing standpipe as it could require passing
a burning room the get to the existing location. The building is not
sprinklered now but they are being added throughout.
