Chris,

I know you're looking for a code./standard reference and this is just
a "my two bits" answer but if the control valve was a yard PIV and it
and the FDC were both marked that they were for both structures and
both structures are on the same property and the shed is ancillary to
the main building then why would it matter if they were both fed from
one underground line? What if the shed roof continued 15' over to the
main building? would it then be a separate building? I really think
that the separate lead-in issue has to do with properties, property
lines and ownership. If I built my house with a common kitchen/living
area but with detached and seperate bedrooms would I need a lead-in
and riser for each detached structure? This logic applies to your
breezeway issue also.

When it's not fully involved with fire sure that's adequate.

As an existing condition I don't know. It's been that way for 15 years.
The FM left it as a separate issue in the analysis for sprinklers in the new
addition. The walls are unrated but there are no openings.

is 15ft adequate separation to consider them separate buildings?
