Hello Matthew,

I did some seismic for CPVC here in SC a few months ago. Using the
Afcon Lateral brace for Longitudinal brace om 1 1/2" pipe. The part
number is #030/040 Sway Brace (Model K).

See Below

             Main
              |
              | 6" nipple with Cap Same size as the main pipe
  T-Fitting > |--------)
              | ^
              | ^
^Attach Brace here running along arrows.

I put this note on my drawings RIGHT below the detail picture (YOU
need to edit the values for YOUR piping):

>T Fitting in pipe with 3" nipple and pipe cap for attachment.
>T Fitting and nipple are same size as pipe run.
>(8 locations)

>We request acceptance of the proposed longitudinal bracing support
>as detailed above as an alternate method of construction per State
>Regulation 71-8300.12. We believe the proposed installation meets the
>intent of longitudinal bracing requirements for this project.

>The weight of 59 feet of 1 œ" waterfilled CPCV piping and 15 feet of
>1" waterfilled CPVC piping 83.603 and 10.125 pounds respectively
>(1.417 lbs/foot for 1 œ" piping and .675 lbs/foot for 1" piping per
>Blazemaster Pipe Dimensions and Weight table found on page 16 of the
>April 2006 Blazemaster Engineering Manual).

If you need a detail for this look on the Afcon Site or contact me off
list and I will dig it out and send it.
