The last bay of a non combustible fully sprinklered sheriff's department garage (repair facility) contains an automatic car washing machine. The bay is open on both ends, there is a complete wall on the building side and an 8' high wall on the exterior side with an open eave.
Does this require protection per 13, 2007 edition section 8.15.7.5? Since the book uses bank drive thrus as an example I am perplexed by this particular situation. It would seem that a car going through the wash would pose no greater hazard than a vehicle idling under a drive thru or aone delivering packages under a porte' cochere. What thinks ye?
