What is the norm when dealing with parapets which are so constructed as to
create a small (8 sq. ft. x 20’ long) combustible concealed area within.
This parapet is separated from the interior of the attic by the plywood roof
decking. I’m trying to relate it to the requirements in nfpa13 2007, 8.15.7
because if areas beneath floors can be non-sprinklered then surely a parapet
would qualify as so not requiring sprinklers. Wouldn’t it?
