Several jurisdictions around here require a placard to be placed on the building indicating the location of the FDC or if it's at the street at the backflow. It's kind of funny sometimes to see this FDC sticking out of the ground 10 ft off the road with a big ole red and white sign saying FDC on it. Seems like one of those DUH occasions.

I say, "does that mean you want a fire pump?" He says, "yes, I would prefer one." I say, "i was not a good firefighter, but I do remember our engineers were pretty keen on making the connections, are you saying that the first due engine doesn't make the connections?" He says, "yes, that happens about 20% of the time. They arrive at a building, and don't know if there are connections there or not." I think, "this IS a problem," "...but not mine." should we put signs up outside of all buildings with FDC's or is this something the engineer/driver should know, or something the officer in the bucket should tell him? scot deal excelsior fire _______________________________________________ Sprinklerforum mailing list [email protected] http://lists.firesprinkler.org/mailman/listinfo/sprinklerforum To Unsubscribe, send an email to:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (Put the word unsubscribe in the subject field) _______________________________________________ Sprinklerforum mailing list [email protected] http://lists.firesprinkler.org/mailman/listinfo/sprinklerforum To Unsubscribe, send an email to:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (Put the word unsubscribe in the subject field)
