look at 13R: A.6.7.7.1.5.6. It identifies that small shadowed areas up to 3 sf are not a problem. It also emphasizes that water droplets do not follow a linear path (like a beam of light) which jives with your wrap-around reference.

The situation is a bathroom in a SFR that is cover by one head. Due to the configuration of the room there is a very small corner that is being shadowed. A pie shape shadow from 0" to 6" wide and 2' long. To place a head to cover this shadow, in my opinion, is not reasonable and would be over-kill. The plan checker sites the code not allowing shadowing. I am confident the operation of the single head would cool the room to allow escape. The intent of 13D is being met.

Has anyone heard the argument (or phenomenon) of spray wrap-around for these situations?
