Roland,

Is there an NFPA 13 equivalent to this for dwelling units? I ran into this
on a hi-rise condo where we were trying to space our sprinklers 36" away
from ceiling mounted lights. The bathrooms were to irregular shaped and
evertime we tried to relocate the sprinkler from center of room we had
shadowing somewhere.

Thanks,

look at 13R: A.6.7.7.1.5.6. It identifies that small shadowed areas
up to 3 sf are not a problem. It also emphasizes that water droplets
do not follow a linear path (like a beam of light) which jives with
your wrap-around reference.
