Hi All,
How much a fire pump efficiency is important?
When want to buy an agriculture pump which should work at least 12 hours a
day, then efficiency is very important to decrease energy cost. But a fire pump
which may work totally 50 hours/Year and energy saving is not a matter of
importance for a fire pump, why shoild I buy high efficiency fire pumps.
I think even a low efficiency(Ex. 60%) fire pump which meets NFPA standards
(Deliver not less than 65 percent of rated head at 150 percent of rated
capacity) can be a good choice and no need to spend too much money to buy high
efficiency (Ex. 90%) fire pump.
I believe that even a low efficiency fire pump is as reliable as a high
efficiency fire pump for fire protection.
What do you think about it?
  Thanks,
  Reza
