While we are on retroactive sprinkler installations. There is a proposed amendment to NJ's Uniform Fire Code requiring retroactive fire sprinkler installations in B (Business) and R-2 (Residential Multiple Dwellings) High Rise Buildings. The NJ Fire Safety community needs your support of this important legislation. You will find a link to the proposed rulemaking with instructions on how and where to send comments, even if those comments are merely in support of the measure. Every comment counts !

Is that correct? Do you know how many other states have enacted similar ordinances? Basie Hall is five story residential building that houses 240 students. The Little Falls Fire Department was notified. Montclair State University Police responded to find smoke in a fifth floor apartment. The sprinkler system activated and controlled the fire to the kitchen. The cause of the fire was unattended cooking. The residents thought the electric stove was turned to the off position. Upon investigation it was determined that the stove was not turned off. Thanks to the quick response of the building's addressable fire alarm system and the building's sprinkler system, the damage was limited to water damage. _______________________________________________ Sprinklerforum mailing list [email protected] http://lists.firesprinkler.org/mailman/listinfo/sprinklerforum To Unsubscribe, send an email to:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (Put the word unsubscribe in the subject field)
