If there is no water coming through the backflow due to an interruption
from the municipal source, hooking to a hydrant downstream of the
backflow will not give them any water.

Is this kind of what you're talking about, source is from the left
through the block(BFP) then tee to the riser and sprinkler/standpipe
with straight through the tee to the hydrants.

Subject: RE: fdc loop

My picture did not work, sorry.

Deal is this: Source to backflow with FDC, 6" continues to tee that
feeds standpipe and sprinkler, from the tee 6" continues to 2 fire
hydrants.

When FD connects to hydrant they will connect back to fdc with the
sprinkler main in between the 2. Will this create a useless loop or will
it work?
Thanks,
Greg

Subject: fdc loop

We have a situation as follows:

Hydrants are "O" and fdc is "X"

                                               STANDPIPE

                                                             I

                                                             I

"O" "O" I

I----------------------------I------I-------------------------"X"-dcda--
----
---SOURCE

Question: Will this work or does it create a loop that will prevent the
standpipe from receiving adequate pressure?

Thanks,

Greg
