The UFC's supersede those listings in many cases and I would check with the AHJ in any case; we have had the concealed space sprinklers shot down by NAVFAC in the past. Unfortunately, a lot of it comes down to which branch you're working with and in which region. Bill's suggestion regarding the room application (I think you meant largest, not smallest?) is also not generally accepted and isn't mentioned in the UFC's that I'm aware of. If the area is more than 36" in height then you can utilize the area reduction allowances as long as you meet all of the conditions per NFPA-13, as previously indicated by Matthew.
