I have been advocating for dispensation of the fire hydrant duty
requirements when a building is fully sprinklered, properly designed and
installed. My arguement is based on the fact that a response from F.B. would
be for clean-up, looking as the success stories in the past of fire sprinklers
and the safety afforded to the F.B. by the FS system. Is this (dispensation)
applicable in the US - also I am surprised by the duty required for the
sprinkler system as posted 1500-2000USGPM is this for F.S & Hydrant duty or
only for ESFR in a big box application.
