Todd-
All is not necessarily lost. While if this is 30' rack storage of Group A,
ok, it's all lost.

But we did an internal inspection of a wet system installed in 1912 with
3/4" end lines before we kept it as the basis of alterations from a
multi-storied mfg building to loft apts, it was clean as a whistle. Replaced
steam pump with electric, included the small diameter in the calcs, and it
worked fine. City of Phila had agreed if the pipe was clean it could stay if
we included the correct sizes in the calcs. I'd guess this was circa 1990
+/-.

DRB, yup- SS White Dental Mfg Building. I'll never forget that lunch.

And yes, a lot of our collections now have 1911 and 1912 SSU's from a
predecessor company that was one of the 4 that merged into "Automatic"
Sprinkler Corp of America. I haven't seen them for awhile, like many
collections mine is in various corners of the basement, attic, and our shop,
but I think they were "International" sprinklers. Something to do when I
retire.... John D'Abruzzi said soak em in lemon juice, they come out clean
after a day or two. Now I feel like prairie home companion, since all our
designers are above average :)

TGIF !

Subject: This week's discovery

I just came out of a building built in the 1950s with a pipe schedule
system. Branch line sizes: 3/4, 3/4, 1, 1-1/4, 1-1/2. Assume the position.
