Go directly to the structural engineer responsponsible for the roofing system and get written clarification on hanging and bracing.
I wouldn't do anything unless I had directions in writing. Craig L. I am starting to work on a project, and I would like to ask your advice. We just got a job retro-fitting a building in an earthquake zone. One area of the building has a "Bahlen Roof System" (when I googled, I came up with Behlen, if that helps). The point of the roof system is to create large open spaces without needing columns. This particular roof system is a convex roof, but the finished ceiling is horizontal. I think there is a mess of wires, tension cables, and what not that are skinned with a fairly heavy duty sheet metal. My concern is not so much with hanging our system, but with bracing it. Has anyone else dealt with a roof system like this? I would like to hear from some of you before I contact the manufacturer. Their website is pretty generic, and the roof system page is under construction (go figure). Thanks in advance, Jimmy Waite Burtell Fire [email protected] 406-652-7697 _______________________________________________ Sprinklerforum mailing list http://lists.firesprinkler.org/mailman/listinfo/sprinklerforum For Technical Assistance, send an email to: [email protected] To Unsubscribe, send an email to:[email protected] (Put the word unsubscribe in the subject field) _______________________________________________ Sprinklerforum mailing list http://lists.firesprinkler.org/mailman/listinfo/sprinklerforum For Technical Assistance, send an email to: [email protected] To Unsubscribe, send an email to:[email protected] (Put the word unsubscribe in the subject field)
