I agree. In the 02 edition see 9.3.5.1.2. I could not find any examples online. It sounds like the roof system may be designed for loads creating a downward type stress. An engineering review will be needed to determine if the stresses created underneath and pushing upward can be handled. Also for hanging do not forget 9.2.1.3.1 also from the 02.

I am starting to work on a project, and I would like to ask your advice. We just got a job retro-fitting a building in an earthquake zone. One area of the building has a "Bahlen Roof System" (when I googled, I came up with Behlen, if that helps). The point of the roof system is to create large open spaces without needing columns. This particular roof system is a convex roof, but the finished ceiling is horizontal. I think there is a mess of wires, tension cables, and what not that are skinned with a fairly heavy duty sheet metal. My concern is not so much with hanging our system, but with bracing it. Has anyone else dealt with a roof system like this? I would like to hear from some of you before I contact the manufacturer. Their website is pretty generic, and the roof system page is under construction (go figure).
