FYI - In a similar situation with FM they say you "should" install all galv. pipe on a dry system. I had to talk and talk to get the "should" allowed and them to pass the black on the inside of the last one I did for one of their clients.

Even though it is permissable by NFPA 13, FM does not want the test station at the riser. I have had plan review letters and final field system acceptances by the engineers indicating the test station is to be moved to the most remote branch line. Regarding 2-8N, I have learned that this data sheet is no longer avail- able on the FM web site. It has been removed and is to be replaced by a complete new document: DS 2-0. This will be FM's own sprinkler system installation guide, which means they will no longer be referencing the "N" (for NFPA), where they had to pay a fee for use of the NFPA 13 document. The new document should be out later this year.
