The sprinklers are in surprisingly good condition. The property is only 5 to 7
years old. The existing
rod is zinc plated and the existing rings are the standard galvanized swivel
type rings. I explained
the NFPA ferrous material requirement to the customer and have recommended
installing all new
stainless rod and rings.

*Venting time*

However as it goes with most HOAs someone on the board is king of the world and
"knows" every thing
about everything. They inevitably know someone who knows someone who did it
this way or that way. The
professional recommendations mean nothing. With that being said, I am simply a
lowly sprinkler guy
who knows no one who did it that way. So I figured I'd ask instead of making up
crap in the absence of
facts that I may unaware of. (I'll stop now).

*End Ranting*

Thanks Todd, I don't believe I have ever come across this "specifically
approved" non metal hanger
material either. If someone has, please let me know.

Thanks,

Subject: Re: Non-Corrosive Hangers?

NFPA 13 requires that all hangers be ferrous (contains iron, the

primary component of steel), unless specifically approved. I do not

know of a non-metallic hanger rod. Stainless would be the best

option. You might be able to use regular plated rod if you coated it

with spray galvanize in place, but I would have to do more research.

BTW, how are the sprinklers? Are they coated?
