It is flexible sprinkler fittings in general, not just Flexhead Industries.
We don't see the value in them. We have allowed some installations as
tests to see if it was viable for us. The results have not been
encouraging. We have experienced improper installations whereby the hose
was twisted with bends exceeding the UL and manufacturer's limits, plates
not locked in, sprinkler set screws not locked down, etc. We ran the gamut
of issues. It appeared that experienced fitters were taken out of the
equation. The only value noted was that it was easier to hit the center of
tile. There was no real value in moving heads for renovation projects
because the hose is limited to 6 feet and the equivalent lengths that have
to be used in the calcs make the flexible systems more demanding. Also, we
have the Buy America Act, and, as such, would have to justify Flexhead
Industries as a sole source. So we have simply stuck with the armovers.

Thank You

Rahe,
Are FlexHead Industries assemblies not allowed or flexible sprinkler hose
fittings in general?

And if it is flexible sprinkler hose fittings in general... what is the
reasoning? Just curious.

Thanks,

Justin
